Lip balms, lip balms, lip balms! I own so many lip balms it's untrue. I don't think a day goes by where I don't apply a lip balm at least twice a day. We all have our favourites and I know a lot of people LOVE vaseline. I absolutely hate the stuff and feel it doesn't do a thing to moisturise. The clue is in the title really, PETROLium jelly.
For me personally nothing beats the blistex relief cream which technically isn't a lip balm as such but does an absolutely fantastic job of hydrating and moisturising my lips. It's cheap as chips too!
The only thing the blistex relief cream doesn't have is a hint of colour. If I do wear it I always have to layer a colour on top of it. Now Carmex is a brand that I've always been aware of but never really tried before. I don't know why I've just always loved the blistex! So when I got asked if I would like to try a few samples from their range I threw caution to the wind and thought why not? I received the classic yellow pot of the original moisturising lip balm and the moisture plus bullet in peach.
The colour of the moisture plus is gorgeous. It gives a really nice subtle hint of colour to the lips and goes with most every day make up looks. It's super hydrating and feels lovely to apply. Thumbs up Carmex! I can't say I'm a mega fan for the scent but that aside it's lovely (although they did send me a tube of their cherry scented carmex which smells DIVINE).
PROS
-lovely subtle hint of colour
-cheap as chips
-nice lipstick style bullet meaning no sticky fingers after dipping them in a pot
CONS
-smell
-doesn't moisturise as much compared to blistex
Overall this is a great lip balm to chuck into your bag every day for a much needed hit of moisture. Unfortunately though, it will never live up to the insanely moisturising properties of blistex relief cream!

I adore both the peach and pink ones of these and wore them all last Summer. I've just bought the Sheery Berry one from eBay US as its not sold here and am very pleased with it. I reviewed it recently on my blog.
