About a month ago I had laser skin therapy at good skin days in Leeds. If you want to read about my experience with laser skin therapy then you can read about it here. I loved my results and can’t wait to go back for more treatments! Anyway, after having the treatment my skin was extremely sensitive after being exposed to lasers so it meant I was unable to use anything with AHA/BHAs so my Murad skincare routine went out of the window. I asked the practitioner who carried out my procedure what skincare she would recommend to use after having the treatment. She mentioned the Avène range so I went to Boots to have a look at what they had to offer.
I have always been a fan of their thermal spray. I use it in the mornings to wake myself up and on holiday to cool my skin down when I’m sat in the sun, but I’ve never tried anything from their skincare range. After having a good look through their products I picked up their gentle tissue off cleanser and the skin recovery cream. The skin recovery cream cost £12.50 from boots which seems really reasonable for a moisturiser.
The skin recovery cream is a dream to use. It’s got an almost silky texture to it and it feels lovely when you massage it into your skin. I use it in the evening after letting my murad anti-blemish wrinkle sink in. I like to use quite a lot and really work it into my skin. I love that there are minimal ingredients in it yet it does the job better than any other moisturiser I’ve ever used. That thermal spring water must be like the fountain of youth or something because since using it my skin has looked so, so much better.
If you go directly to the Avène site and register with them then you receive a few small samples from their range which might be worth while doing if you fancy giving them a go (which I would highly recommend). They also do some travel sizes of their products in Boots, particularly their thermal spring water spray.
Overall, I’m so chuffed I came across this brand. I’m totally sticking to using this in the evening from now on and am really going to steer away trying anything new on it. Whether you have sensitive skin or not I can’t recommend this stuff more highly!
Have you ever tried anything from Avène?
