I've been meaning to share this tip with my fellow bloggers for quite some time now but just haven't got round to it. So many of us have old, cracked and broken eye shadow and often, we don't know what to do with it. Well for a good couple of years now I've been turning mine into lovely and unique shades of nail varnish!
It's so simple and easy to do yet I'm surprised at how many people don't know this little trick! Basically all you need to do is take a pile of the eye shadow (crush it up into a powder) then pour a few drops of clear nail varnish on top. Mix it together and what do you know?! You've got a new nail varnish!
You don't necessarily have to have broken eye shadow to do this either. I've found it works well with loose pigments (you can get some truly stunning nail varnishes from these!) as well as some other eye shadows that I've just scraped a bit to get some colour.
Hope you enjoyed this little trick. If you've ever done this and have some swatches of your result please link me. I'd love to see your creations! I was lucky enough to find the above pic to demonstrate the tip as my camera is currently out of use :( Make sure you check out the blog (I've listed it in the caption) it's a lovely little blog I'm sure you will all enjoy!
Hope you have had a lovely day! |

ReplyDeleteAlso, if you want to Save the broken eyeshadow, just put in a few drops of alcohol (rubbing, not spirits!) so that its damp but not Wetwet, tamp it down into its container and let dry. when alcohol evaporates, it will be solid and dry!
